Jan Baran is a Partner at Holtzman Vogel Baran Torchinsky & Josefiak PLLC and has been in private practice for over forty years.  Chambers USA has called Jan “the dean of campaign finance law.”

Jan began his legal career as Counsel and Assistant to the Chair of the Federal Election Commission. He has served as General Counsel of the George H.W. Bush for President committee, General Counsel of the Republican National Committee, a member of The President’s Commission on Federal Ethics Law Reform, Special Recount Counsel to the Virginia Attorney General, and member of the Virginia Governor’s Commission on Government Finance Reform. 

An experienced litigator, Jan has argued numerous cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals.  He is the author of “The Election Law Primer for Corporations,” published by the ABA, now in its Sixth Edition.
